The industrial sector in north-central Ha Tinh province posted positive growth in August, marking its recovery after a long period of difficulties.
Figures from the provincial Statistics Office show that the province’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) in August was up 6.6 per cent compared to July and 49 per cent year-on-year.
Ha Tinh has set a target of a year-on-year increase of 11 per cent in its 2023 IIP.
The operation of the first turbine at the Vung Ang 1 Hydropower Plant over the closing months of the year together with the possible growth of the local mining sector due to increasing demand for construction materials to build the Eastern North-South Expressway and a number of production projects at local industrial parks will help it fulfill its targets, according to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.
Ha Tinh also plans to develop its industrial sector towards sustainability, becoming a developed industrial center. Focus will be placed on steel production, support industries, and electricity production.
