The 8th meeting of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) Working Group on Big Data (INTOSAI WGBD), hosted by the State Audit Office of Vietnam  (SAV) opened in northern Ninh Binh province on September 10.

The three-day event attracted over 100 domestic and international participants to discuss and share experience in data management and big data in auditing.

Addressing the meeting, National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai highlighted Vietnam's commitment to advancing auditing practices through technology innovation.

The NA Standing Committee issued a Resolution on the development strategy of the SAV until 2030 with the aim of improving the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of auditing activities. Central to this strategy is the rapid adoption and integration of new technologies, particularly big data and AI. These technologies would help to ensure transparency, openness and accuracy in auditing processes, according to Mr. Hai.

The meeting attracted the largest number of speakers in the history of INTOSAI WGBD gatherings, reflecting the growing importance of big data in auditing.

It also served as a bridge to promote auditing cooperation between the SAV and INTOSAI WGBD members, as well as between Vietnam and numerous countries globally.
