Vietnam attracted nearly $3.1 billion in FDI during the first two months of 2023, a year-on-year fall of 38 per cent, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
There were 261 new FDI projects licensed in the period, with total investment of more than $1.76 billion, a 2.8-fold increase year-on-year.
Additional capital to existing projects rose 85.1 per cent year-on-year to $535.4 million, while capital contributions and share purchases were up 3.7 per cent to nearly $797.9 million.
The ministry said foreign investors invested in 17 of Vietnam’s 21 economic sectors, led by manufacturing and processing with more than $2.17 billion, or 70.1 per cent of the total.
