Set to become a centrally-run city in 2030, south-central Khanh Hoa province is opening up enormous investment opportunities for domestic and foreign investors, especially those from Japan, the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) has reported.
It quoted Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh, Party Central Committee Member and Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, as making the comments during a meeting in Japan with Mr. Yohei Kono, President of the Japanese Association for the Promotion of International Trade.
Informing his host of the province’s first investment promotion in Hiroshima Prefecture, Mr. Ninh also spoke about potential, strength, and needs as well as areas and sectors that Khanh Hoa prioritizes in attracting foreign investment.
He proposed that Mr. Kono help promote investment into Khanh Hoa, especially into the Van Phong Economic Zone, in the areas of tourism, industrial parks, healthcare, particularly for the elderly, and software technology, as well as in opening charter flights, among others.
For this part, Mr. Kono said this is the best time to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Japan because there remains much room for development in Vietnam while there are many Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that want to expand overseas.
He also pledged to make a contribution to promoting investment flows from Japan into Khanh Hoa province as the cooperation between localities will contribute to the fine relations between the two countries.
The Khanh Hoa delegation, headed by Mr. Ninh, paid a working visit to Japan from November 6-10.
