US-based Marvell Technology Inc. inaugurated three new offices in Ho Chi Minh City and central Da Nang City on September 30, establishing Vietnam as its third-largest research and development (R&D) hub worldwide, after the US and India.
Vietnam now hosts more than 500 Marvell engineers.
The two offices in HCM City and one in Da Nang will support the company’s rapidly growing engineering workforce and innovation efforts. The Etown 6 office in HCM City is the largest and houses a state-of-the-art laboratory with advanced validation tools for semiconductor chip testing.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee, said the expansion underscores Marvell’s long-term vision for technological cooperation and development in the region. He added that the company’s presence reaffirms Vietnam’s rising role in the global semiconductor value chain.
Marvell Vietnam was first established in 2013 with just five engineers at the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone in HCM City.
