Authorities in central Thanh Hoa province have officially approved the master plan for a new 2,925-ha urban development zone centered on aviation services and technology.

Known as Subdivision No. 1 of the Lam Son – Sao Vang urban area, the project is strategically located adjacent to Tho Xuan Airport in the Tho Xuan district. By 2040, the new hub is expected to accommodate a population of around 65,000 residents.

The development will transform a large area covering Sao Vang town and several surrounding communes. Its boundaries are defined by major infrastructure, including National Highway 47 to the north, the Ho Chi Minh Highway to the west, and the Lam Son – Sao Vang Industrial Park to the south.

This project is designed as a multi-functional "aerotropolis," combining an aviation tech hub with a wide range of public and commercial facilities.

Key features will include a regional exhibition and sports center, logistics facilities, a central park, a golf course, resorts, and comprehensive healthcare and education services. The plan also integrates both existing communities and new, modern eco-urban residential areas.
