Spanish hotel group Meliá Hotels International has inked an agreement for a new hotel in Ha Long that is set to debut in 2027.

Owned by the Hanoi Halong Tourism Company, Meliá Halong Bay will have 240 guestrooms and 302 serviced apartments spread over two towers, and feature four restaurants and bars, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a spa, and 2,000 sq m of MICE space.

“Ha Long Bay and its limestone karsts are one of the natural wonders of the world and a thrilling advantage for our hotel group,” said Mr. Ignacio Martin, Meliá Hotels International Managing Director for Asia Pacific. “With this addition to our portfolio, our guests can visit popular destinations from the north to the south and know they will receive the Spanish warmth and hospitality our brand has become famous for wherever they are in the country.”

The announcement marks the next milestone on an 18 month-journey of rapid expansion of Meliá within Vietnam. The group currently has 23 hotels throughout the country, including the upcoming opening of Gran Meliá Nha Trang. Sol by Meliá Cam Ranh Bay, Meliá Nha Trang Beach Resort, and Meliá Quy Nhon Beach Resort will open over the next few years.
