National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will resume certain international routes to and from central Da Nang city this month.
Flights between Da Nang and Narita in Japan are expected to resume on March 26, with a frequency of four flights a week. Starting from July, the figure will increase to seven flights a week.
This is part of a cooperative agreement for the 2023-2027 period signed between Vietnam Airlines and city authorities on March 3.
Under the deal, the two sides will promote tourism, commercial investment, aviation, and destinations, promoting the post-pandemic restoration of the aviation sector in particular and the tourism industry in general.
As of early March, Da Nang had a total of 24 direct air routes, including eight domestic and 16 international routes. The city caters to a daily average of 100-120 flights.
Flights connecting Da Nang and Bangkok have a frequency of four a week and the city and Incheon, South Korea, seven a week.
