The Hai Phong – Vung Ang – Hai Phong container shipping route has been officially launched by the Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company, in partnership with Macstar Group.

The first vessel, the MACSTAR HAI PHONG, docked at Vung Ang Port to handle 222 TEUs of cargo. This included containers for VinFast Trading and Production JSC's Ha Tinh branch and empty containers designated for packing goods in transit from Laos.

The Hai Phong – Vung Ang – Hai Phong container service was established to transport import-export goods from industrial zones in Ha Tinh province with the international transshipment port of Hai Phong.

The service is scheduled to operate weekly (one trip per week), creating direct connection opportunities for businesses in the Vung Ang Economic Zone and the broader North Central region of Vietnam to the international hub in Hai Phong. This maritime transport method is recognized for being low-cost, safe, and environmentally friendly, while also reducing pressure on road infrastructure.

A representative from the Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company stated, "The launch of the Hai Phong – Vung Ang – Hai Phong container route not only opens up new avenues for regional maritime transport but also affirms the increasingly important role of Vung Ang Port in the international supply chain."
