The Hai Phong – Vung Ang – Hai Phong container service was established to transport import-export goods from industrial zones in Ha Tinh province with the international transshipment port of Hai Phong.

Spanning nearly 73 ha, the terminal can simultaneously accommodate two of the world's largest container ships.

Although cargo volumes passing through Hai Phong Port fell slightly in July, the operations of the port have prospered, with revenue and profit both rising thanks to the application of advanced technology. The port welcomed a new service line from the ZIM shipping company in July, and at the same time implemented a project to build two container terminals at Lach Huyen to soon welcome vessels of 100,000 DWT.

The first vessel of ZIM Integrated Shipping Services on the new China - Hai Phong Express (CHX) transport service has arrived in Hai Phong Port. This is a good step in reconnecting broken supply chains between Vietnam and the world via Hai Phong. The CHX route is from Shanghai - Ningbo - Hai Phong - Xiamen - Shanghai.
