North-central Nghe An province will focus on five key tasks to attract more FDI, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Trung has said.

“The province is willing to innovate, reform, and improve its investment environment and is ready to provide support,” Mr. Trung said.

It has developed policies and mechanisms to attract investment, promoted and supported the effective implementation of industrial park infrastructure projects, and been active, proactive, and flexible in promoting and attracting investment.

The province has always supported the settlement of procedures relating to FDI projects, with the time needed for major projects taking only two-thirds of the time stated in the relevant law.

It attracted 92 new FDI projects in 2022 with total registered capital of over VND28.39 trillion ($1.2 billion). 2022 marks the first time the province has been listed among the top 10 localities with the largest FDI inflows.

Nghe An will renew its investment promotion efforts in 2023, diversify forms of implementation, systemize data on investment promotion, and maintain regular dialogue between provincial authorities, relevant bodies, and investors to quickly resolve any shortcomings in the implementation of investment projects.
