The Nghi Son Oil Refinery in north-central Thanh Hoa province resumed operations from September 20 after production was postponed for maintenance.
This was the first maintenance conducted since the plant was officially put into commercial operations four years ago.
The maintenance was aimed at cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining important technology equipment and workshops.
Part of the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex, it holds some 35 per cent of the country’s petroleum and oil market share.
The complex had total investment of nearly $9.3 billion and is co-owned by PetroVietnam, Kuwait Petroleum Europe B.V. (KPE), and Mitsui Chemical (MCI) and Idemisui Kosan (IKC) from Japan.
