Construction has begun on a road link between the North-South Expressway’s Cam Lam - Vinh Hao section and National Highway 1 and then to the Ca Port Complex in south-central Ninh Thuan province’s Phuoc Minh commune.
The project will strengthen the local traffic network to effectively take advantage of the Ca Na Port Complex and Ca Na Industrial Park, creating a driving force for economic development in the province and the region.
The 14.8-km-long route has total investment of VND903 billion (nearly $37 million) and is divided into two sections: one from the North-South Expressway to National Highway 1 and one from National Highway 1 to Ca Na Industrial Park.
The six-lane route has a width of 21 meters with a three-meter-wide median strip and is projected to be completed in 2025.
Speaking at the breaking ground ceremony on December 2, Chairman of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People’s Committee Tran Quoc Nam said that upon completion it will play a crucial role in accelerating economic development not only in the province’s southern reaches but also in localities in the central highlands.
The route is expected to also facilitate response to natural disasters, enhance defense and security, and contribute to provincial socio-economic planning.
