Some 1,919 new enterprises were established in central Thanh Hoa province in the first seven months of the year, up 23.8% compared to the same period last year, according to the provincial Statistics Office.
Their total registered capital reached over VN15.3 trillion ($601 million), a year-on-year surge of 501%.
There are 36 enterprises with a registered capital of more than VND50 billion ($1.96 million).
With this result, Thanh Hoa ranks seventh among 63 centrally-run cities and provinces and tops the north-central region.
During the seven-month period, the province also witnessed an increase of 21.3% in the number of enterprises registering for a temporary suspension and 43.4% in the number of businesses that were dissolved.
