Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh committed to continue supporting businesses and entrepreneurs at a meeting with outstanding businesspeople in Hanoi on October 11, the Government News has reported.

The meeting was held on the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day on October 13.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has signed Politburo Resolution No. 41/NQ-TW on building and developing local entrepreneurs in the new era in a spirit of support and assistance, he said.

In order to effectively implement the Resolution, the government and the Prime Minister will continue to stabilize the macro-economy, control inflation, promote growth, ensure major economic balances, and maintain security and social order, he said.

The government will further improve the business environment, remove unnecessary business conditions, raise national competitiveness, streamline administrative procedures, and build the digital economy and the digital government.

Prime Minister Chinh also pledged to remove bottlenecks in resources mobilization, production, and business, and further facilitate access to credit by businesses and individuals.

He urged ministries, agencies, and localities to review and tackle obstacles facing businesses, speed up public investment disbursement, and take measures to develop markets in a safe, healthy, and transparent manner.

Vietnam is home to nearly 900,000 operating businesses, about 14,400 cooperatives, and more than 5 million household businesses. Businesses contribute more than 60 per cent of national GDP and about 30 per cent of the country’s workforce.
