Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chinh has instructed authorities of southern Binh Duong province to strive to make more breakthroughs in all fields, strengthening its status as Vietnam's leading modern industry hub and towards developing it into a smart city.

During a working session with provincial authorities on September 26, the PM asked Binh Duong to promote investment in socio-economic infrastructure and take the lead in connecting its economy with neighboring localities, the rest of the country, and the international community.

The province should pioneer in developing digital, green, circular, sharing and nighttime economies, with a strong emphasis on digitalization and greening the economy, he said, adding that it must proactively build new-generation industrial parks, with priority given to green, digital and smart solutions, alongside a commitment to training quality workforce.

PM Chinh also requested Binh Duong to boost administrative reform, digital transformation, and improve business environment and regularly engage in dialogues with businesses and promptly address any obstacles they face in production and trade.

Binh Duong’s economic growth for this year is estimated at 7.28%.

In the first eight months of the year, the province attracted over $1.36 billion of FDI capital, up 4.7% year-on-year, ranking 7 among the 63 centrally-run cities and provinces nationwide, in terms of registered FDI capital.

Cumulatively, as of August 31, 2024,  the province has attracted $41.8 billion of FDI capital, ranking among the top three localities in the country in terms of FDI attraction.
