The Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee has given the green light to the construction of the Hoang Sa - Doc Soi Highway with total investment of VND3.5 trillion ($146 million).

Of the total, the central budget will contribute VND500 billion ($20.9 million) and the provincial budget the remainder.

The 28-km link will connect the central province’s Quang Ngai city with Binh Son and Son Tinh districts, creating a key economic development corridor.

It is also expected to contribute to attracting investment for the development of the Dung Quat Economic Zone and ease traffic congestion on National Highway No. 1.

The highway will have a speed limit of 60 km/h.
