The People's Commuittee of Quang Ngai province in central Vietnam has issued a decision approving the Tra Khuc 1 Bridge project, with a total investment capital of nearly VND2.2 trillion (approximately $84 million).
The project is expected to break ground in 2025, and scheduled for implementation from 2025 to 2027.
The projected Tra Khuc 1 Bridge will be located in the Nghia Lo and Truong Quang Trong wards, and will have a length of over 577 m and a width of 28 m.
This is a special-grade bridge project, designed with a speed of 60 km/h.
The construction of the new Tra Khuc 1 Bridge is deemed urgent, as the old Tra Khuc bridge has deteriorated and can no longer accommodate the increasing traffic volume.
The new project will contribute to completing and synchronizing the transportation network in the locality in line with approved plans, improving transport capacity, and connecting the northern gateway to the administrative center of the province across both banks of the Tra Khuc River.
The project is also expected to serve as an architectural landmark, creating a new symbol for the administrative center and fostering the development of a modern riverside urban area. This will transform the appearance and stature of Quang Ngai's central urban area in the future.
