Singaporean Prime Minister  Lawrence Wong affirmed to encourage businesses to expand investment in Vietnam while improving the quality of FDI capital flow during a phone conservation with Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh on May 29.

Priorities will be given to high-tech industry, digital economy, circular economy, green energy, semiconductor and AI, the new Prime Minister of Singapore said.

Singapore wishes to work with Vietnam to effectively implement the connectivity framework agreement and the partnership on green and digital economy, particularly in clean energy and carbon credit, thus paving the way for bilateral cooperation to reach a new level that is both comprehensive and strategic, he said.

PM Chinh stressed that Singapore remains one of the most important partners of Vietnam in the region and the world, pledging that the Government of Vietnam will continue close coordination with the Singaporean Government to further deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries in a substantial and effective manner.

Singapore was the first country to establish a partnership in green and digital economy with Vietnam on the occasion of PM Chinh’s official visit to Singapore in February 2023.
