The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and the Vietnam Women’s Union have agreed to coordinate in supporting female-owned enterprises in the 2024-2027 period.
A signing ceremony for the coordination program between the two sides was held in Hanoi on August 12.
The coordination program focuses on proposing policies and raising women’s awareness of Party policies and State laws supporting women to develop startup, business and collective economy, implementing supporting activities and training and generating jobs for women.
There are currently 930,000 enterprises operating in the country, contributing over 60% to the GDP and generating jobs for 30% of the labor force. Of which, over 20% are owned by women, according to the MPI.
