Approximately $5billion have been remitted home annually by over 700,000 Vietnamese guest workers, the Government News quoted figures from the Ministry of Home Affairs as reporting on July 18.
In the first half of 2025, over 74,000 guest workers traveled to work abroad, accounting for 57.5 percent of this year's target.
Over the past three years, around 150,000 Vietnamese laborers were sent to Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China) and European countries.
Remittances play a vital role in supporting families and contributing to national economic stability, particularly in rural and remote areas.
Currently, more than 500 enterprises are authorized to provide overseas employment services for Vietnamese workers.
All workers must undergo orientation sessions covering customs, traditions and legal regulations of their host countries before their departure.
