Data from the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) shows that pangasius exports brought in $2 billion in the first nine months of 2022. With such results and a slight rise expected over the next few months, it is forecast that annual export turnover may hit a record $2.5-2.6 billion, or one and a half times higher than last year.
According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), in September 2022, pangasius export turnover reached $161 million, up 97 per cent over the same period last year. Accumulating the first 3 quarters of 2022, pangasius export revenue reached $2 billion, up 82 per cent over the same period last year. With positive results and a recovery trend in the coming months, Vietnam's pangasius export turnover in 2022 is forecast to reach $2.5-2.6 billion, one and a half times higher than in 2021.
The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) has said that Vietnam’s pangasius exports reached over $1.8 billion in the first eight months of 2022, up 81 per cent year-on-year. Exports to the US accounted for 23 per cent, worth more than $421 million, up 87 per cent year-on-year. The average price of frozen pangasius fillets exported to the US in August was a record $5 per kilo.
On September 7, the US Department of Commerce (DoC) issued the final conclusion from the 18th anti-dumping tax administrative review (POR18) for the period from August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021 on Vietnamese pangasius. At the request of the parties concerned, DoC has maintained the current anti-dumping tax rate applied to each company.
