The Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism has worked with others since the beginning of the year to hold a host events to restore the local tourist market. With the opening of direct flights from Cam Ranh to Almaty, Kazakhstan, on October 26, travel businesses in the south-central province will focus on that country’s tourist market and others in central Asia and Eastern Europe. The province welcomed nearly 2.3 million visitors in the first ten months of 2022, 4.6-fold higher than in the same period last year, of which international visitors reached nearly 190,000, or 9.2-fold higher.

According to adjusted planning, upgrades to Cam Ranh International Airport in south-central Khanh Hoa province will allow it to welcome 25 million passengers a year by 2030. It will have a new passenger and cargo terminal and a new runway, costing nearly VND24 trillion ($1.03 billion). It is expected to be capable of welcoming 36 million passengers a year by 2050.

The urban area around Cam Ranh Bay in south-central Khanh Hoa province is being adjusted to create a modern ecological, commercial, tourist, and entertainment services urban area facing the sea, with technical and social infrastructure and landscape architecture.
