During discussions on the socio-economic situation at the ongoing fourth session of the 15th National Assembly (NA), Mr. Tran Van Tuan, NA deputy from northern Bac Giang province, said Covid-19 created a shortage of housing for workers that remains to this day. It is therefore necessary to introduce specific mechanisms and policies to encourage the participation of the private sector in housing and meet demand.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) believes that inflationary pressure is tending to increase. The 2022 figure is expected to exceed 4 per cent, posing challenges in control efforts next year. Cutting lending interest rates will also face difficulties, due to deposit rates and the USD/VND exchange rate both tending to increase.

At a recent seminar entitled “The impact of COP26 on energy transition towards green growth”, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said that to achieve the goal of energy transition and net zero emissions, as committed, the greatest problem remains implementation resources.
