The THACO Group is carrying out investment procedures to expand the size of Chu Lai Port in central Quang Nam province to 170 ha, to enable it to berth vessels of 50,000 tons by 2025 and 100,000 tons in the future. It will be the largest container port in the central region, contributing to improving the logistics network in the area.
The Ministry of Transport has directed the Department of Inland Waterways to help Hong Van inland waterway port submit a plan on becoming a key container port in Hanoi. On an area of more than 40 ha, the change to the port will create favorable conditions for vessels from nearby Hai Phong city and Quang Ninh province to berth, promoting economic development in the capital and the country as a whole.
