The growth mainly driven by higher prices for food, catering services and transport as consumer demand for shopping and travel surged during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
According to preliminary figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the number of completely-built-up (CBU) motor cars imported into Vietnam during February rose 102.3 per cent compared to January. CBU imports of all kinds totaled 9,152 units in the month, worth $212 million.
