The Philippines’ Department of Industry and Trade (DTI) has decided not to impose safeguard duties on High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) from Vietnam because the latter is a developing country with a negligible volume of imports to the Philippines, at less than 3 per cent of the total. The DTI also decided previously not to apply safeguard duties on Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE).
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued a Decision subjecting a number of plastic and polymer products from Malaysia, Thailand, and China to anti-dumping duties of 9.45 to 23.71 per cent for three years until July 22, 2025.
