In the first six months of 2026, two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and the United States reached approximately $132.4 billion. This result establishes Vietnam as the 5th largest trading partner of the US and places the country among the top exporters to this market.

The United States remained Vietnam’s largest export market with a turnover of $104.7 billion, while China was its largest source of imports, reaching $138.6 billion.

Shifts in US trade policies, particularly regarding import tariffs, have placed considerable pressure on Vietnamese exports.

The growth of this group alone contributed more than half of the total export growth, highlighting the critical role of the electronics sector in Vietnam's trade landscape.

VASEP emphasized that Vietnam’s seafood industry, in coordination with the Government and local authorities, has made continuous and significant efforts to modernize, enhance accountability, and strengthen fisheries management.
