Exports of agriculture, forestry and fisheries to Vietnam’s northern neighbor rose 13.8 per cent year-on-year in the January-September period while those to traditional markets slipped.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has said that banana export value this year has reached nearly $390 million, an increase of 63 per cent year-on-year. Vietnamese bananas accounted for 43 per cent of China’s total banana imports in the period, surpassing the Philippines, with 28 per cent, to become the largest import source. Banana exports to China are expected to grow further in the future.
