The capital Hanoi plans to strengthen promotion programs to stimulate consumption, thereby supporting businesses and enhancing economic growth, according to the city’s Department of Industry and Trade.
It will implement a series of promotion programs in May, July, and November.
Discounts will be offered on many types of products and services.
These programs are expected to attract the participation of 1,000-2,000 businesses.
The opening ceremony for the promotion programs is scheduled for May 18 at Thong Nhat Park in Hai Ba Trung district. Programs will be held by supermarkets around the city.
A consumer goods and agricultural promotion program is slated for May 19-21 at the park.
An Electric and Technology Promotion Day will be held in July.
A non-cash payment event is also scheduled for July, to raise awareness about the benefits of cashless payments.
The Hanoi Trade Promotion Month is set for November. The annual program is aimed at boosting consumption at year’s-end at around 1,000 points of sale.
