The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh Minh's Thu Duc city held a conference to announce nine 1/2000-scale zoning master plans on June 23. These plans are applicable to 12 newly established wards—formed as a result of the merger of its current 34 wards—and include the approval of investment policies for projects totaling over VND54 trillion (over $2.064 billion).
The total planned area spans more than 21,100 ha, with a projected population exceeding 2.5 million people.
Its development orientation includes the renovation and redevelopment of existing residential areas and the formation of multifunctional complexes along major transportation corridors linked to public transit, such as Vo Nguyen Giap–Hanoi Highway, Ring Roads 2 and 3, and the HCMC–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway.
