The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) announced the top 10 sustainable businesses in Vietnam’s manufacturing sector in 2023 at a ceremony on December 13 in Hanoi.
They are among 100 enterprises honored as part of this year’s Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) Program; the eighth of its kind.
Of the top 10, four are foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs).
Apart from honoring sustainable businesses, the program also praised those that performed well in two categories: implementing the circular economy model and cutting carbon emissions, and building diversified, equal, and inclusive value.
The CSI was created to assess the sustainable development of businesses and is based on economic efficiency, business administration, environment, labor, and society, according to Deputy Chairman of the VCCI Nguyen Quang Vinh.
It has demonstrated that shifting mindsets to sustainability has become necessary for enterprises and is beneficial, he said.
Making commitments and operating under sustainable strategies helps them overcome the difficulties and challenges to develop and prosper, he added.
