Vietnam’s exports of tra fish to Mexico earned $39 million this year, as of July 15, a year-on-year increase of 14%, figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs show.
In the first half of July, the export revenue reached $4 million, marking a significant growth of 90% compared to the same period last year.
Mexico remained the third largest importer of Vietnamese tra fish, following China and the US.
Meanwhile, Mexico was the largest buyer among members of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), to which Vietnam has been a signatory.
The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) forecast that exports of tra fish to Mexico will keep increasing in the remaining months of the year, due to its higher demand for year-end festive activities.
