Vietnam earned $472 million from exporting tuna in the first half of 2024, marking a significant growth of 23% year-on-year, figures from the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) show.
The export turnover of frozen, fresh and dry tuna products was estimated at $246 million, soaring 19% against the same period from last year.
In June alone, tuna export revenue reached $85 million, up 32% year-on-year.
Vietnamese tuna products have been exported to 100 countries and territories. Top markets include the US with an export value of $173 million in the first six months of the year, the EU $108 million, Israel $38 million, and Russia $19 million.
