“Digital transformation in transportation and logistics is one of eight priorities that the Vietnamese Government attaches great importance to,” Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang told a visiting delegation from Autodesk, Inc., a US multinational software corporation, during their recent meeting.
“The ministry’s activities have been digitized recently, aiming to manage and operate in three priority areas based on databases, including transport infrastructure, transportation, and traffic safety,” he went on. “This helps the transportation sector speed up progress and cut costs in transport infrastructure projects.”
The visitors proposed accompanying the ministry in digital transformation.
Mr. Haresh Khoobchadani, Vice President, Asia Pacific & Japan, at Autodesk, spoke about its Building Information Modelling (BIM), for safe and more efficient infrastructure projects.
This is a solution that Autodesk has applied in cooperating with and assisting governments in many countries and territories in infrastructure construction, including the building of Bangalore International Airport in India and tunnels in Norway.
Autodesk’s BIM is integrated with a Geographic Information System (GIS) to help build smart cities by connecting location information, design models, and cooperative workflows for a more holistic view of the entire project lifecycle.
