In the presence of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Laos’ National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Sounthone Xayachak, Vietjet Air and Lao Airlines have signed a comprehensive partnership agreement and announced a new route between the Lao capital Vientiane and Ho Chi Minh City.

This is a significant milestone not only for the two carriers but also for the two neighboring countries and their close and cooperative relationship.

Vietjet and Lao Airlines, the national flag carrier of Laos, become comprehensive partners in passenger and cargo transportation under the agreement, expanding their cooperation in technical fields, aircraft maintenance and repair, aviation workforce training, and more.

To meet the travel needs of citizens and tourists, Vietjet will also open a brand new route between Vientiane and Ho Chi Minh City, the leading economic and cultural center in Vietnam, starting from next February. The new route is expected to see four weekly return flights, with a flight time of approximately one hour and 45 minutes each way.

Vientiane is Laos’ capital and largest city and its political and economic center. It is located on the banks of the Mekong River, offering picturesque sights reflecting the ancient beauty of the Indochina region. The capital attracts visitors with its renowned architectural landmarks, temples, pagodas, local festivals, and unique cuisine.

Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City is a national and regional economic, cultural, and tourist center, boasting unique cultural features and vibrant modern lifestyle while offering seamless connectivity to a plethora of destinations within Vietnam and overseas.

Vietjet’s new route is expected to contribute to the promotion of trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two countries, creating further fruitful outcomes in their longstanding cooperative relationship.

It not only connects Ho Chi Minh City with Vientiane and other localities in Laos but also extends further with Vietjet’s extensive flight network covering Vietnam, Australia, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), South Korea, India, Kazakhstan, and elsewhere.
