In July 2025, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, led a delegation of 17 Vietnamese companies to South Korea under the National Trade Promotion Program, according to a report from the Government News.
Representing sectors from agri-food and seafood to construction materials and household goods, the businesses aimed to promote Vietnamese products and forge international partnerships.
A standout event was the Vietnam pavilion at the Korea Import Fair in Seoul, July 8–9, co-hosted by the Vietnam Trade Office. The showcase connected Vietnamese enterprises directly with South Korean consumers and importers, bolstering the “Made in Vietnam” brand. Delegates also explored global booths to gain insights into product design and marketing trends.
The mission included the Vietnam–Korea Business Matching Seminar, organized by VIETRADE and the ASEAN-Korea Centre. Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Director of VIETRADE's Investment and Trade Promotion Center, highlighted Vietnam’s improving investment environment and strategic focus on technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
Meanwhile, Ms. Win Min Phyoe from the ASEAN-Korea Centre applauded the ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Agreement’s role in driving trade and expressed optimism about hitting a $150 billion turnover target by 2030. She also pointed to collaboration potential in sustainable development and climate action.
On this occasion, Vietnamese firms engaged in productive B2B meetings, with high interest in agricultural and seafood products.
In Busan, the delegation hosted a networking event and visited Sanjim Food and the Nongshim Busan Plant—gaining valuable exposure to modern production models and the demands of South Korea’s food manufacturing sector.
