Export and import activities via border gates between Vietnam and China in northern Lao Cai and Lang Son provinces increased remarkably in the first six months of the year.
The total value of two-way trade through the border gates in Lao Cai is estimated to reach over $1.5 billion during the six-month period, a year-on-year growth of 64.2% and equivalent to 35% of the annual plan, according to the provincial authorities.
There are 515 enterprises involving in import and export activities via the border gates in the province, up 22.6% compared to the same period last year.
At Kim Thanh border gate No.2, some 370 vehicles got customs clearance each day.
Meanwhile, the total value of declared exports and imports through the border gates in Lang Son province stood at over $2.7 billion in the period. Of which, the export revenue is estimated at $1.3 billion, up 3.3% year-on-year.
The province provided customs clearance for an average of 1,200 vehicles each day.
