The "Vietnamese Fruits - Delicious All Year Round" festival is taking place in Beijing, China, on September 29 and 30, the Government News reported.
Co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade with support from the Vietnamese Embassy in China, the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, and Chinese partners, this is Vietnam's first large-scale fruit festival abroad.
The festival features 12 booths showcasing a variety of fruits and sweet potatoes that have been officially exported to China. Additionally, a booth is dedicated to Vietnamese enterprises for product demonstrations and introductions.
Several seminars will be held to provide information about the production and trade capacity of fresh fruits and vegetables and facilitate direct trade activities between Vietnamese businesses and Chinese fruit importers and distributors.
China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner for years, accounting for about one-fourth of Vietnam's total import and export turnover. Vietnam is also one of China's largest trading partners globally and the largest partner in ASEAN.
Fruits and vegetables are among the fastest-growing export items from Vietnam to China. In the first six months of 2024, the export value of Vietnamese fruits and vegetables to China reached $2.1 billion, accounting for approximately 64% of its total export turnover of fruits and vegetables worldwide.
