The Vietnam International Sustainable Aviation Fuel Innovation & Policy Summit (IPS Vietnam 2026) is taking place in Da Nang City, central Vietnam, on May 7-8.
The event is organized by the Asian Sustainable Aviation Fuel Association (ASAFA) in collaboration with the Da Nang Innovative Startup Support Center (DISSC), Star Consulting, and Veritas.
This marks the first international forum in Vietnam dedicated specifically to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
IPS Vietnam 2026 has attracted a wide array of stakeholders, including policymakers, representatives from central ministries and the Da Nang People's Committee, aviation industry leaders, investors, and international experts. The forum aims to drive the development of a robust SAF ecosystem in Vietnam.
Approximately 70 domestic and international entities—including airlines, fuel producers, technology firms, and regional investment funds—are in attendance to explore partnership opportunities within the SAF value chain. Notably, the event features the participation of major global and domestic corporations such as Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical JSC (BSR), Airbus, Axens, the US Grains & BioProducts Council, Aether Fuels, and Velocys.
As the global aviation industry accelerates its roadmap to achieve Net-Zero emissions by 2050, SAF has emerged as a vital solution. It allows for a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions without requiring major modifications to existing aircraft technology or fueling infrastructure.
In this context, the forum focuses on several strategic areas, such as policy dialogue on energy transition in the aviation sector; development of the SAF ecosystem and market; the potential of Vietnam’s raw material sources within the regional value chain; as well as investment mechanisms, innovation, and international cooperation to promote the development of sustainable aviation fuel.
IPS Vietnam 2026 serves as more than just a technical seminar; it functions as a multidisciplinary hub connecting energy, finance, technology, logistics, and innovation. Through this landmark event, Vietnam is expected to integrate more deeply into the global SAF value chain, while simultaneously opening new doors for investment and international cooperation in the green energy transition.
