Vietnam and Russia have reached a consensus on signing a master plan outlining the development of Vietnam-Russia cooperation until 2030, the Government News reported.
This plan includes a roadmap for collaboration in sectors such as industry, healthcare, agriculture, trade, and education.
The agreement was made during a phone talks between Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Nikolayevich Chernyshenko on October 22.
During the call, both leaders emphasized their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Deputy PM Ha proposed enhancing information sharing mechanisms to address challenges encountered during the implementation of joint programs and projects. He also suggested exploring new intergovernmental cooperation agreements in key areas.
Specific agreements were also reached on principles for cooperation in the oil and gas and traditional energy sectors. Additionally, they confirmed a roadmap for agricultural cooperation and a project to establish a Russian school in Hanoi.
To further bolster bilateral ties, the leaders outlined specific measures to enhance cooperation in agriculture, industry, energy (including oil and gas), information and communications, science and education, and culture and sports.
They committed to promoting tourism, fostering people-to-people exchanges, increasing the teaching of Vietnamese and Russian in both countries, maintaining scholarship programs for Vietnamese students, and attracting more Russian students to study and conduct research in Vietnam.
