The government has issued Resolution No. 168/NQ-CP, dated October 11, on the national strategy on corruption and negative phenomena prevention and control to 2030.

Vietnam has posted encouraging achievements over recent years in corruption prevention and control but shortcomings and obstacles remain, the Resolution states.

Corruption and negative phenomena are still complicated matters in many areas, especially in personnel and organization; finance, budget, public asset and State capital management at businesses, construction, and bidding and auction activities; land, natural resources, and minerals management; credit and banking; and tax, customs and law enforcement activities directly related to people and businesses, it noted.

To improve the efficiency of corruption prevention and control efforts, the Resolution sets key major measures, including completing policy and legal regulations regarding socio-economic management and anti-corruption and strengthening supervision, monitoring, inspection, audit, investigation, prosecution, and judgment activities.

Other solutions include improving the efficiency of international cooperation in anti-corruption and fully implementing national rights and obligation as a signatory of the UN Convention against Corruption.
