The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has set a target of earning $14 billion in revenue from exporting agriculture, forestry, and fishery products in the second quarter of 2023, Minister Phung Duc Tien has said.
To hit the target, MARD will focus on implementing a range of tasks and solutions, including promoting international cooperation and export markets to boost consumption of agricultural products.
Focus will also be on developing markets, removing obstacles to create the best possible conditions for domestic consumption and exports, and helping businesses sign new export contracts.
The ministry will organize conferences for border provinces to enhance trade exchange between Vietnam and China.
Relevant agencies and localities are required to closely follow market movements to accurately forecast market demand to guide production and trade activities and maximize prices and economic efficiency.
Vietnam earned an estimated $11.9 billion from exporting agriculture, forestry, and fisheries products in the first quarter of 2023.
