Vietnam’s GDP strongly grew 7.4% in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year in spite of severe consequences left by the Typhoon Yagi, the General Statistics Office (GSO) reported at a press briefing held on October 6.
The economic growth in this quarter contributed to the expansion of the GDP in the first nine months of the year by 6.82% year-on-year. This is much higher than the growth rate recorded during the same period last year (4.4%).
The agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector recorded growth of 3.2% in the nine-month period; industry and construction 8.91%; and services 6.95%.
Regarding the economic structure in the Jan-Sept period, the agro-forestry-fishery accounted for 11.64%, while the industry-construction and service areas made up 37.10% and 42.8%, respectively.
