The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) officially opened its Internet Data Center at the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, known as IDC Hoa Lac, on October 25.

Considered the country’s largest and most modern data center to date, IDC Hoa Lac covers 23,000 sq m and accommodates 2,000 racks.

The center is equipped with devices from companies in G7 countries, such as Cumin, Hitachi, and Siemens, and also has the ability to connect to the internet at super high speeds, averaging 2Gbps per rack for domestic connections and 0,5Gbps per rack for international connections.

VNPT Director General Huynh Quang Liem said that besides IDC Hoa Lac the group has eight other data centers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang.

It has sought cooperation with other partners and investors to build more regional and international data centers using green and sustainable technologies, he added.
