VinFast Auto officially signed a Letter of Intent with five dealers in Indonesia at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024, held in Jakarta from February 15-25.

The signing marks an important step forward in expanding VinFast’s distribution network in the country and strengthening its brand recognition and competitiveness globally.

The first VinFast dealers in Indonesia include GSU, BAM, and GNA, with headquarters in Jakarta, MCA, based in Medan, and Majesty, headquartered in Batam. The agreements will help VinFast quickly establish its brand presence and link with local customers.

Indonesian dealers are expected to begin selling the VF 5, VF e34, VF 6, and VF 7 models later this year following their official launches.

Mr. Tran Quoc Huy, CEO of VinFast Indonesia, said it is delighted to partner with the automotive dealers in Indonesia to bring local customers modern, exciting, and eco-friendly mobility solutions.

“We believe these agreements pave the way for a strong development foundation for VinFast and its partners, while also unlocking boundless opportunities for the local and regional sustainable transportation industry,” he added.

Mr. Hartono Kurniawan, Director of BAM, believes that the strategic cooperation will bring high-quality, competitively-priced vehicles with youthful design and outstanding after-sales support to the Indonesian market, promoting the development of the domestic electric vehicle (EV) industry.

VinFast aims to expand its EV distribution network this year to cover all major cities in Indonesia. This move demonstrates its determination to quickly become the preferred EV brand for Indonesian consumers, and illustrates its global vision, including the goal of promoting the zero-emissions transportation revolution for a green future for all.

Indonesia is the first country where VinFast will introduce right-hand drive EVs, illustrating its advanced manufacturing capabilities and determination to develop EVs and bring green transportation to all markets.

To ensure convenient charging, VinFast will partner with local suppliers to establish a nationwide charging network. This ambitious plan will enable seamless electric mobility for Indonesian customers, significantly boosting sustainable transportation adoption in the market.

Driven by a long-term vision for sustainable transportation, VinFast, as previously announced, will build a local EV manufacturing plant in Indonesia with a projected capacity of 50,000 cars a year.

VinFast’s planned factory is expected to create thousands of jobs and contribute to the development of a robust domestic EV industry. When operational, the plant will also represent a key link in VinFast’s global EV supply chain.
