Vietnam had posted total export turnover of $342.19 billion this year as of the end of November, surpassing the $336.31 billion mark for 2021 as a whole.

Figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs released on December 20 show that exports increased 13.4 per cent year-on-year in the first eleven months of 2022 despite a slight decline in November.

The country earned $29.02 billion from exports in November, down 4.4 per cent or $1.35 billion compared to October.

Among ten key export items, the export value of phones and phone accessories reached $54.89 billion and electronic goods, computers, and components $50.74 billion, up from $51.92 billion and $45.52 billion, respectively, in all of 2021.

Major importers of these two groups of commodities were China, the US, the EU, and South Korea.

Other key export commodities included machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts, which earned $42.02 billion against $34.04 billion in 2021, garments and textiles, with $34.65 billion against $29.14 billion, footwear, with $22.03 billion against $15.81 billion, wood and wooden products, with $14.69 billion against $13.38 billion, and seafood, with $10.17 billion against $7.98 billion.
