The Ministry of Transport plans to kick-start construction of 12 key transport projects in 2025, according to the ministry's Construction Investment Management Department.
They include construction of My An – Cao Lanh expressway (first phase) and Dau Giay – Tan Phu expressway, and expansion of Cao Bo – Mai Son section and La Son – Hoa Lien section of the east North-South Expressway.
Apart from road construction, there will be some projects to build or upgrade bridges, develop logistics and water corridors, and build information systems for the Vietnam Aviation Authority of Vietnam and the Department for Roads of Vietnam, both are under the ministry.
These projects will help to complete the national transport network and boost socio-economic growth, according to the ministry.
In 2024, there were 11 transport projects implemented. Two other projects, including the upgrade of National Highway No.46 crossing central Nghe An province and a channel for Quy Nhon port to enable it to accommodate vessels of up to 50,000 DWT, are scheduled to start this month.
