The Ministry of Transport has approved the expansion project of La Son - Hoa Lien section of the North-South Expressway from two lanes to four lanes.

The La Son – Hoa Lien expressway has a total length of 65 km and links central Thua Thien-Hue province and central Da Nang city.

Its roadbed width will be expanded to 22 m.

Total investment capital is estimated at over VND3 trillion ($125 million) to be sourced from the State budget.

The project is expected to be completed by 2025.

The expansion is expected to keep pace with the increasing number of vehicles and contribute to form a modern transport axis to connect major economic centers of the central region, especially since the establishment of the centrally-run city of Hue in January 2025.
