More than 146,000 new enterprises were established in the first eleven months of 2023, a 6 per cent increase year-on-year, figures from the Ministry of Planning and Investment reveal.

The new enterprises mainly operate in the fields of services, industry, construction, and agriculture, forestry and fisheries.

In November alone, over 14,200 new enterprises were set up with total registered capital of VND153.6 trillion ($6.4 billion), year-on-year rises of 19.5 per cent and 47 per cent, respectively.

Existing enterprises resuming operations in the eleven-month period totaled 55,485, down 2.5 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Over 158,763 enterprises withdrew from the market, up 20 per cent year-on-year. Of these, 53.8 per cent registered for a temporary suspension of operations.
